Donation Tax Benefits

Food For Good is a registered section 18 organization.

This means that any donations made can be used to reduce your taxable income when you submit your tax returns.

We at Food for Good can then invest in more impactful projects.
The projects we engage in are designed to assist the local community. By local we mean your next door neighbour or someone you know.

Our philosophy is centred around the saying of the prophet Muhammed (PBUH):

“O Messenger of Allah (PBUH), I have two neighbours, to which of them should I send a present?”

He (PBUH) replied, “To the one whose door is nearer to you”. (Bukhari)

The organization is not religious based. This has to be emphasized. The founding members are of the religion of Islam. One of the key principles we adhere to is helping people irrespective of religious, gender, cultural or any differences. We will actively assist anyone who require assistance within our operating capacity.

The primary business activity is centred around assisting the informal recyclers. The sheer effort involved in dragging recycled goods for kilometres on end for a few rands does not sit well with us. We therefore engage with sponsors in order to provide recyclers with discounted food and services.

This system benefits the local community by reducing the increasing evident dumping on street corners and provides those with limited means a source of livelihood.
